When specifying a rubber hardness be sure to include the standard manufacturing tolerance for rubber compounds. Typically rubber manufacturers require a tolerance of +/- 5 hardness points.
Example:
When specifying a hardness of 70 shore A, it is important to note it on the drawing as 70 +/- 5 Shore A.
